Highlights
Day by day
A planned route with realistic driving times. Days can be reordered, extended or shortened when we build your version.
Day 1
CMB · Dambulla · Sigiriya
Meet your chauffeur at arrivals and drive inland toward the Cultural Triangle. Break at the Dambulla cave temples for an hour, then continue to your hotel near Sigiriya. The rock itself is best climbed the following morning, so today is about arriving well.
Approx. 3.5–4.5 hrs of driving plus the Dambulla stop.
Overnight: Sigiriya area
Day 2
Sigiriya climb · Polonnaruwa or Minneriya
Climb Sigiriya early while it is cool, then spend the afternoon either among the ruins of Polonnaruwa by bicycle or on an evening safari around Minneriya or Kaudulla, depending on the season and what you prefer.
Local driving only; the afternoon activity sets the distance.
Overnight: Sigiriya area
Day 3
Sigiriya · Matale · Kandy
Drive south to Kandy through spice country, stopping for a garden or market visit on the way. Afternoon in Kandy: the lake, the temple at offering time, and a Kandyan dance performance in the evening if you want one.
Approx. 2.5–3 hrs of driving plus stops.
Overnight: Kandy
Day 4
Kandy · Peradeniya · Ramboda · Nuwara Eliya
A morning at the Royal Botanical Gardens if you like, then the climb into tea country. Waterfalls, a working tea factory and the long estate views fill the day before you arrive in Nuwara Eliya for the cool evening.
Approx. 2–2.5 hrs of driving plus stops.
Overnight: Nuwara Eliya
Day 5
Nuwara Eliya · Haputale · Ella
The final leg drops through the estates to Ella. If time allows you will have the afternoon for Little Adam's Peak and the Nine Arch Bridge before we drive you to your onward destination — Colombo Airport, the south coast or your next hotel.
Approx. 2–2.5 hrs to Ella, plus your onward transfer.
Overnight: Onward destination

FAQ
It works well for families with older children who can manage the Sigiriya climb and the driving days. For younger children we usually suggest a slower route with fewer hotel changes.
No. The tour price covers the private car, chauffeur and planning. Tickets, hotels and meals are booked and paid separately so you keep control of your budget.
